Shoppers in Paisley’s Gilmour Street may have noticed some intriguing changes at number 9B. The premises have been transformed into the stylish InCube Shop which will bring a new retail concept to the town when it opens on Halloween. The shop is the latest part of Invest in Renfrewshire’s business incubator programme, InCube. Seven of the entrepreneurs who won a year of support from the council are now ready to take their wares to market and the Gilmour Street showcase offers shoppers the first chance to see and buy an exciting range of unique goods.

The shop itself is designed to be a bright, light and simple setting that shows off its dazzling selection of textiles, paintings, jewellery, accessories, hats and children’s clothes.

Councillor Mark Macmillan, Leader of Renfrewshire Council, said; “The InCube shop is a great addition to the Town Centre. It will complement our existing retail offer and attract shoppers to the area. InCube continues Paisley’s association with craftsmanship, design and innovation – all qualities that will colour and drive the town’s regeneration.”

At first, the store will stock products from seven InCube businesses: DOM Art, Bella Brilla Bridal
Accessories, Amy McGregor , Treetops Children’s Boutique, Pea Cooper Millinery, Vonnie Designs and Hoolihan Guitar Slides.

DOM Art displays and sells paintings and will take commissions for portraits. Paisley resident, Dominika, also offers pocket-friendly bags and Tshirts.

Bella Brilla retails bridal bling; stunning hair and clothing accessories for brides, their maids and mothers for that special day.

Amy McGregor, who lives in Bridge of Weir, creates beautiful designs for luxury textiles; cushions, matching lampshades, scarves, prints in frames and notebooks.

Treetops sells stylish, boutique-quality, and fabulously cute clothes for children.

Pea Cooper is one of Scotland’s top milliners whose hats add style and wit to any outfit and any occasion.

Vonnie Designs is a forward- thinking textile and fashion brand. Original designs are inspired by the beauty of Scotland, and translated into wearable scarves and accessories.

Linwood resident, Phil Hoolihan makes unique guitar slides that are already popular with musicians worldwide.

The shop is staffed by two InCube business owners, Siobhan Gray of Vonnie Designs and Susie Somerville of Treetops Boutique. Two Invest in Renfrewshire trainees, Charles Affleck and Vanessa Young will also work in the store as part of their retail training programme.

Siobhan Gray said, “It’s great to be part of such a positive enterprise and we’re looking forward to meeting potential customers and developing products in response what people tell us. It’s a brilliant opportunity for our individual businesses but it’s especially exciting to be part of Paisley’s community at such an exciting time in the town’s revival. “

The InCube Shop will open for the first time on Halloween when Town Centre revellers who are more interested in design and shopping than in demons and spooks can take advantage of its extended opening hours over this weekend.
